Activities for groups of 3 or more

The following is a list of activities that can be done as groups. Because of the cost associated with these activities, each one has a minimum number of people (3) required for the school to sponsor the activity. These activities are not on a regular schedule but can be arranged at any time. Just let one of the staff members know your desires.

The Verbena at the Masaya Artists Market (Mercado Viejo). You will leave the school at 4:00 PM and head to Masaya by bus. You will walk around the Artists Market and then have dinner there. Lastly, at 7:30 PM the Verbena begins. This is a display of the traditional dance of Nicaragua. Someone from the school will pick you up and transport you back to the school at around 9:30 arriving in Managua at about 10:00 PM. The cost for this activity is $12 plus your cost of dinner.

The boat trip of the “Isletas de Granada” is a great activity. You will leave the school at 1:00 PM with a staff member and head to Granada by bus. There you will board a gondola style boat and tour the small islands of the lake in Granada. The tour taks about an hour. You will return to the school around 5:00 PM. The cost of the activity is $16.

La Caminata de La Concha is a hiking tour of the area known as “La Concha”. It is a beautiful area about 1 hour outside of Managua, located in the mountains. You will accompany a staff member and do a 2-hour hike in the mountains exploring the flora, fauna and spectacular scenery. You will leave the school at 1:00 and return shortly after 5:00 PM. The cost of this activity is $16.

El Chocoyero Nature Reserve is one of our most popular activities. It is located about 45 minutes outside of Managua in an area called Ticuantepe. The reserve is home to many monkeys and various other animals. You will accompany a staff member there by bus and moto-taxi, leaving the school at 1:00 PM and returning around 6:00 PM. This tour can also be arranged on Saturdays at around 9:00 in the morning upon request. The cost for this activity is $18.

*The school can provide other tours such as of the Volcan Masaya. There is an additional cost for these tours. Talk to the director if you are interested in additional tours to get prices and to schedule times/dates.
